THE PROGRESSIVES and LIBERALS
People who focus on using government money for
social programs are Liberals. People who focus on
making institutional changes to meet specific social
objectives are Progressives. A Progressive would not be
satisfied with funding programs without changing the
rules of the game.
For example, instead of funding health care,
progressive politicians passed a new Patient Protection
and Affordable Care Act (Obamacare) in 2010 that
transformed one-sixth of the American Economy. When
Congress passed the act, it was 906 pages; by 2012, it
had grown to more than 20,000 pages. The Obamacare
law would be 7 feet tall if stacked one page upon
another.
The Cloward-Piven strategy is a progressive
strategy started in 1966 by American sociologists and
political activists Richard Cloward and Frances Piven.
The game plan seeks to hasten the fall of our
Capitalistic-based economy by overloading the
bureaucracy with a flood of impossible demands, thus
pushing society into crises and economic collapse
paving the way for a new national system.
The Obama Administration favored progressive
policies, such as income redistribution programs while
