Chapter 2: The Key Players

military. In The New Confessions of an Economic Hit
Man, Perkins explains how the jackals have come home
to the United States—in the form of bankers, lobbyists,
corporate executives, all eager to lure Americans ever
                        deeper into a debt prison.

                                THE PROGRESSIVES and LIBERALS

People who focus on using government money for
social programs are Liberals. People who focus on
making institutional changes to meet specific social
objectives are Progressives. A Progressive would not be
satisfied with funding programs without changing the
                        rules of the game.

For example, instead of funding health care,
progressive politicians passed a new Patient Protection
and Affordable Care Act (Obamacare) in 2010 that
transformed one-sixth of the American Economy. When
Congress passed the act, it was 906 pages; by 2012, it
had grown to more than 20,000 pages. The Obamacare
law would be 7 feet tall if stacked one page upon
                        another.
The Cloward-Piven strategy is a progressive
strategy started in 1966 by American sociologists and
political activists Richard Cloward and Frances Piven.
The game plan seeks to hasten the fall of our
                        Capitalistic-based economy by overloading the
bureaucracy with a flood of impossible demands, thus
pushing society into crises and economic collapse
paving the way for a new national system.

                              The Obama Administration favored progressive
policies, such as income redistribution programs while
