Wesley Clark rose to the rank of four-star general
and was named director for strategic plans and policy of
the Joint Chiefs of Staff. As Supreme Allied
Commander and Commander in Chief of the U.S.
European Command, Clark knew that neocons in the
military were plotting to overthrow the seven middle
eastern countries of Iraq, Syria, Lebanon, Libya,
Somalia, Sudan, and Iran.
A Neoconservative does not have specific goals
other than to have a predominant influence over world
events and to control the world’s resources. The word
hegemony means leadership, a predominance over other
people and nations. When American political and
business leaders believe that America holds a special
place in the world and that any policy can be justified
because America is destined to rule over others, it is
practicing hegemony. Donald Trump does not believe
in this American exceptionalism, he has called the idea
“insulting to the world” and sees it as an undue burden
on our rights and opportunities as a nation.
Paul Craig Roberts was the United States
Assistant Secretary of the Treasury for Economic
Policy in the Reagan administration. In his book, The
Neoconservative Threat to World Order: America’s
Perilous War for Hegemony, he explains on page one
that the Soviet collapse in 1991 gave rise to the neo-
conservative doctrine of U.S. world hegemony. The
neoconservative doctrine defines the United States as
the “indispensable, exceptional” country above all
others. Neoconservatives believe that this superiority
gives it immunity from international law. Therefore, the
