Artists Bios - Riverside Guitar Duo

Matt Kaplan is a classical guitarist based
in New York City. He holds a Bachelors of
Music Education Degree from West Chester
University of Pennsylvania and a Masters of
Music Performance from Mannes College -
The New School for Music.

Matt now has over ten years of performing
experience that has brought him to many
venues including Carnegie Hall, Symphony
Space, the Kimmel Center, The DiMenna Center for Classical Music,
The Morgan Library and Museum and more. Internationally, Matt
has had the pleasure of performing in Peru, Italy, Chile and Spain.

Currently he is working on recording a chamber music album of
music composed by the Bolivian composer Jaime Zenamon. The
album includes duo music for guitar and cello, violin, and clarinet as
well as music written for guitar duo, trio, and quartet. The Riverside
Guitar duo will be featured on the album with a recording of Jaime
Zenamon’s Suite Andina.

Currently Matt is the education manager at Sage Music in Long
Island City in Queens. Matt also works for the New York City
Classical Guitar Orchestra and is a section leader currently helping
to prepare the group to record an album of new music commissioned
for the Orchestra.
