       D5.4 Freezer and Chillers

       As   restaurants    become      busier,   pressure
       increases on  the  storage  space available.
       Although a significant upgrade programme has
       been completed it is likely that restaurants may
       request extensions to their freezer and or chiller
       space on a site by site basis.


       In such circumstances, space should be
       identified adjacent to the existing freezer and
       or  chiller for  the extension  and indicated on
       the  architect’s proposals. Where  requested,
       secondary access doors for loading can be
       installed  direct from the corral (without the
       need to enter the building interior). Secondary
       loading doors should not be directly accessed
       from external / public spaces for security. Designs
       will be developed for pricing and installation by
       McDonald’s specialist contractors.

       Freezers and chillers are self finished.


       Freezer and chiller shelving design and supply
       will be undertaken by Tardis (a specialist team
       within Martin Brower). This should be coordinated
       via the project manager.
