Brother of the Year
Brother Marquelle L. Middleton is a Fall 2016 initiate of the Stamford (CT)
Alumni Chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc. Since that time, Marquelle has dedicated his time and talent
to building and leading the chapter’s Guide Right and Kappa League programming efforts. Guide Right is the
fraternity's
philanthropic and service arm and provides educational and occupational guidance of youth.
Brother Middleton has successfully served the chapter as the Assistant Guide Right Director, Guide Right
Director and Scholarship Coordinator. He has forged bonds with mentees over the last four years that will
prove to be life long and is a trusted confidant for many of the Kappa League members as well as a resource for
parents.
With fresh eyes and new ideas, Marquelle has approached the tasks before him and raised funds to
support Guide Right efforts including a trip to the inaugural National Kappa League Conference held in
Charlotte, NC. He leads regular workshops and provides service opportunities for the nearly 35 youth
participants enrolled in the Stamford Kappa League.
Marquelle has earned a bachelor’s degree from Temple University and a master’s degree from Teachers
College, Columbia University. He is currently employed with New Haven Public Schools as the Director of School
Choice & Enrollment.
He is a man of great faith and enjoys spending time with his wife, Lataya Middleton and their
daughter, Laylah. He thanks the members of the Stamford (CT) Alumni Chapter for his distinguished honor.
