Book Awardee Recipient Jerron Lumpkin is a senior at Capital
Prep Harbor School located in Bridgeport, CT. He is a generous, and kind-hearted young man who is
an inducted Alpha class member of the Stamford Kappa League. Jerron is always available to lend a
helping hand and has consistently demonstrated that he is a leader, scholar and brother. He is the
son of Tamara Smith.
Jerron has volunteered with the Agape Soup Kitchen, his church’s youth ministry and as a Project
Leader for the Age of Change Program. Jerron enjoys playing football and the Varsity Defensive
Captain for his high school team. Jerron has been accepted to many college including West
Connecticut State University, Albertus Magnus College, Lynn University and Jacksonville University to
name a few.
Jerron believes in learning from each of life’s lessons. He states in his scholarship essay, “…reflecting
on the past made me reflect on the future and how my life will and has changed through the tough
times. It made me realize that tough times make a tough person, and never let thoughts of tough
times drag you down. I am confident in my future because I know I’ll make the most out of every
situation.
Jerron will study sports management and has committed to play football at Nicholas College in
Dudley, Massachusetts.
