Two pathways are before you, one's heavy and one's light,
One pathway has the markings of Jesus Christ our Lord;
The other so ample, in chaos leaderless,
It guides souls to death's snare, to doubt and godlessness.

Misfortune and pains has filled up the narrow path,
With burdensome crosses, and sinful thoughtlessness;
But Jesus the Christ promised to help when we're down,
