P. 217
Singing their songs of praise, but unto whom?
CHORUS
Who will call upon the Lord?
Swiftly He'd deliver me.
2
Pleasant remembrance that I bear in my soul,
As I recall the love that He showed me;
Yet there are those who still reach the Lord,
There is no greater joy than Jesus' love.
3
Along the rivers I would cry my sorrows,
I was imprisoned, lost in loneliness;
My soul was captive, without liberty from God,
Now all I have is joy, glory to God.
301. BY THE RIVERS OF BABYLON

By the rivers of Babylon, we sat and wept,
And although we cried, we remembered Zion;
There on the poplars, we hung our harps.
For there our captors asked us for songs,
Our tormentors demanded songs of joy;
They said, "Sir:ig us one of the songs of Zion!"
How can we sing the songs of the Lord, while in a foreign land?
If I forget you, oh, Jerusalem, may my right hand forget its skill.
May my tongue cling to the roof of my mouth,
If I do not remember you;
If I do not consider Jerusalem, my highest joy,
Remember, oh, Lord, what the Edomites did.
On the day Jerusalem fell,
They cried//''Tear it down,"//;
'Tear it down to its foundations!"
Oh, Lord Daughter of Babylon, doomed to destruction,
Happy is he who repays you;
