P. 273

CHORUS
                 Cleanse my heart and soul, Lord Jesus Christ!
                  Free my heart and soul from wickedness;
                     I will serve you faithfully, my God,
               Just lead the way, I will follow after you, my Lord.
                                2
                  Without your loving kindness I once lived,
                    In misery and shame I lived my days,
                   Fill my heart, oh, Lord, fill up my heart
                   With your deepest love and holiness.
                    And if I should suffer for your love,
                    My soul shall endure this day by day;
                    I know with your love, you lift me up
                      I need to follow you faithfully.
                                3
                 I vowed, there at your feet, I swore my love,
                 To leave behind my vice and proudly ways;
                   I can keep my promise by your hand,
                    Ever keep my soul, near at your side.
                    Here I kneel before you, Jesus Christ,
                 To plead, forgive my sins, pardon my flaws;
                    Guide me in the way of divine light,
                   Grant your great salvation to my soul.
