General Tran-Hung-Dao led gallantly hid heroic soldiers to
drive them off the horse back on the Van-Keep battle. The
Vietnamese soldiers took the second battle against the same
Chinese Mongol hordes and made them fearing to release their
ambition of invasion until the Later Le of 1418.
During the longest years of resistance the Chinese Ming
House, Le-Loi had close key work of spiritual Chief-of-Staff
Nguyen-Trai. Also, General Le-Lai who sacrificed himself for
country and Le-Loi to break the Chinese Ming soldier's siege.
The national hero, Le-Lai was killed by Ming soldiers on the
Chi-Linh battle to assist Le-Loi to withdraw and reinforce his
troops for independence struggling.
With loved by the peasants from where he came, Le-Loi had
ten years of struggle to resist the Chinese Ming Empire and
began his rules after the Chinese had driven out Vietnam in
1427.
The Later Le dynasty applied the nominal rules on the
country until the end of 18th century. Le-Loi was the first King
of Later Le, who took the peasants and countryside to be the
base for fighting. He was a great figure in military feats and as
well as a keen politician, which King Le-Loi made the people
following him and die for the country. He was a great leader,
who found and used the scorched earth policy for the long
resistance period and guerrilla war to make his enemy crisis and
confuse. He knew the advantage of countryside and farm to hide
his troop and get the supporter to close his enemy. Also, he had
the patience to wait for the right time to claim the victory while
he was struggling to seek independence for Vietnam.
However, it was a period of vigorous nationalism life, which
was processing with the energy of the mother heart and
spreading out in all field of the national activities.
