“No. Because, she left the village before my family was
back, and she did not see me...!” Trung-Tinh pauses and looked
at Man.
“Do you know where is she...?”
The man shook his head.
“No... She may move toward South.”
“She was single and never want to marry, so she had free to
choose what she wants to be.”
“But you know that Vietnamese woman never leaves their
home to live in a strange place without a husband. Special, your
sitter never walks out of the village. She always closes with the
domestic animals and sticks with the green bamboo around the
village.”
“I knew that... But I do not know why she changed her
mind....!”
“She changed her mind after she knows Communist will
take over the North and she does not want live under cruel
Communist rules. But you were a different man....! you brought
the whole family back to live with them... It is impossible....!”

“Because I believe they will change to help the people. The
war is over... Do you know that...? in the different stone Trung-
