back lines. The radio PCR-25x networks used to express the
liaison between the combat troops and a group commander staff.
The dozen squad guard commander's soldiers were quiet in
the house, and hiding behind the doors and the windows to
defend their battalion headquarters. They were hiding behind the
doors and windows with the rifles on their hands to defend the
battalion headquarters in quietly. The war atmospheric pressure
closed on any people's faces seemed it was quiet in danger
anywhere in the house.
Also, Nguyen wondered to learn that most of the Viet-Minh
soldiers had moved out of the house at midnight, while he was
falling into a deep sleep. He saw Viet-Minh soldiers lying near
the footwall corners on the back and front yards. They were
quiet holding the rifles and ammunition belts were carry on their
shoulders. Each antiaircraft gun on the front and backyard had
two persons sitting on the chair, with their hands held the
handgun and their forefinger put on its triggers. They directed
antiaircraft gun-barrels to the air and turned around on the pivot
to follow the airplane, which has been flying high in the sky and
over the village. Two co-gunners sat on their knees nearby an
antiaircraft and prepared the antiaircraft bullets loading. All of
them kept tension on the sound of an L-19 airplane, which
echoed in the village area from the sky.
Nguyen looked out of the window toward a distance of the
front house. He saw the Viet-Minh soldiers were extreme
seriously to prepare to fight with their enemies. They held the
guns on their hands, carried ammunition on their shoulders and
belt. They hid on the large branches of the trees, the bamboo’s
bushes or lay down on the ground beside the large foot trees.
Also, most of them were in the bunkers, foxholes and waited
for their enemies in quietly with a tension to open fire.
