Students will develop construction, engineering, and programming skills to perform a variety of tasks as a team. Students will be using Vex robotics to further enforce the electrical and mechanical aspects of the course. This is a project based class for the student who is interested in engineering.

PREREQUISITE: Algebra I and Robotics I. Geometry and Algebra is recommended.
Students will use advanced programming and technological devices to accomplish a wide variety of objectives in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, and state technical theater. Students will also be involved in various competitions such as Vex, Solar Boat Cup, etc.

This required class is backed with a semester class of World Geography/Area Studies. The major units studied include: mental and emotional health, family health, personal health, nutrition, consumer health, disease and disorders, use and misuse of substances, accident prevention and emergency health services, community health, and environmental health. Educational Code 51240 provides: “Whenever any part of the instruction in health, family life education, and sex education conflicts with the religious training and beliefs of the parent or guardian of any pupil, the pupil, on written request of the parent or guardian, shall be excused from the part of the training which conflicts with such religious training and beliefs. As used in this section, religious training and beliefs includes personal and moral convictions.”
