Genesis 1:2, “And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the days. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters.”
Acts 1:4-5, 4.) “And, being assembled together with them, commanded them that they should not depart from Jerusalem, but wait for the promise of the Father, which, saith he, ye have heard of me. 5.) For John truly baptized with water; but ye shall be baptized with the Holy Ghost not many days hence.”
Acts 1:8, “But ye shall receive power, after the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem and in all Judea, and in Samaria, and unto all the uttermost part of the earth.”
The fulfillment began in Acts chapter 2 starting with verses 1-4, 1.) “And when the day of Pentecost was fully come, they were all with one accord in one place. 2.) And suddenly there came a sound from Heaven as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled all the house where they were sitting. (See John 3:8) 3.) And there appeared unto them cloven tongues like as of fire, and it sat upon each of them. 4.) And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.”
Throughout the rest of the Bible, beginning with the book of Acts, the Spirit (Holy Ghost) of God is still poured out upon mankind.
John 20:19-22, 19.) “Then the same day at evening, being the first day of the week, when the doors were shut where the disciples were assembled for fear of the Jews, came Jesus and stood in the midst, and saith unto them, Peace be unto you. 20.) And when he had so said, he shewed unto them his hands and his sides. Then were the disciples glad, when they saw the Lord. 21.) Then said Jesus to them again, Peace be unto you: as my Father hath sent me, even so send I you. 22.) And when he had said this, he breathed on them, and saith unto them, Receive ye the Holy Ghost:” Christ saying in essence, here I am, the Lord, God incarnate in the flesh, the one and only true Spirit.
John 14:16-20, 16.) “And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever; 17.) Even the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him: but ye know him; for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you. 18.) I will not leave you comfortless; I will come to you. 19.) Yet a little while, and the world seeth me no more; but ye see me: because I live, ye shall live also. 20.) At that day ye shall know that I am in my Father, and ye in me, and I in you.”
Jesus is the Father robed in flesh and is the Holy Spirit, God himself in the flesh. We have an example for all men that our humanity is able to receive that self-same Spirit of God. The one God, not three gods, dwells within us just as One God was in Christ!
John 14:26, “But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.”
