I Corinthians 15:47, “The first man is of the earth, earthy: the second man is of the Lord from heaven.” We see in this verse that Jesus is the Lord from heaven. Stephen himself knew of who Jesus was. Acts 7:59-60, 59.) “And they stoned Stephen, calling upon God, and saying, Lord Jesus, receive my spirit. 60.) and he kneeled down, and cried with a loud voice, Lord, lay not this sin to their charge. And when he had said this, he fell asleep.” God’s name is Jesus (Emmanuel).
Q. Of whom is Jesus from (the offspring of)? The Father or the Holy Spirit? Better yet David?
Take a look at Matthew chapter 1 and see how it starts to read. Matt. 1:1, “The book of the generation of Jesus Christ, the son of David, the son of Abraham.” From there, one will see the generations of Jesus, [The fleshly nature. The nature that got hungry, cried, got sleepy, got angry, bled, and grew up to manhood]. Now start with verses 16-18 of Matthew chapter 1. 16.) “And Jacob begat Joseph the husband of Mary, of whom was born Jesus, who is called Christ. 17.) So all the generations from Abraham to David are fourteen generations; and from David until the carrying away unto Babylon are fourteen generations; and from the carrying away into Babylon unto Christ are fourteen generations. 18.) Now the birth of Jesus Christ was on this wise: when as his mother Mary was espoused to Joseph, before they cam together, she was found with child of the Holy Ghost.”
According to the scriptures, Jesus Christ was virgin born. Jesus Christ was not some other God in Heaven, in person form, waiting to come down to earth. He was not co- existing or co-eternal as another being in the godhead. Let’s continue from Matthew chapter 1 beginning with verse 19-25: 19). “Then Joseph her husband, and being a just man, and not willing to maker her a public example, was minded to put her away privily. 20.) But while he thought on these things, behold, the angel of the Lord appeared unto him in a dream, saying, Joseph, thou son of David, fear not to take unto the Mary thy wife: for that which is conceived in her is of the Holy Ghost. 21.) And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name JESUS: for he shall save his people from their sins. 22.) Now all this was done, that it might be fulfilled which was spoken of the Lord by the prophet, saying, 23.) Behold, a virgin shall be with child, and shall bring forth a son, and they shall call his name Emmanuel, which being interpreted is, God with us. 24.) Then Joseph being raised from sleep did as the angel of the Lord had bidden him, and took unto him his wife. 25.) And knew her not till she had brought forth her firstborn son: and he called his name JESUS.”
Now Jesus (Emmanuel, which being interpreted is, God with us) is proceeded from the Holy Ghost. The father of Jesus is the Holy Ghost. In verse 18, “...she was found with child of the Holy Ghost.” In verse 20, “...for that which is conceived in her is of the Holy Ghost.” Where was God the Father at this time? Where is he from?
Luke 1:31-32, 31.) “And, behold, thou shalt conceive in thy womb, and bring forth a son, and shalt call his name JESUS. 32.) He shall be great, and shall be called the Son of the Highest: and the Lord God shall give unto him the throne of his father David.”
