The term, proceed, means to come forth from a source, an issue. God the Father is the source of which his spirit (Holy Ghost) is issued into human form.
John 15:26, “But when the Comforter is come, whom I will send unto you from the Father, even the Spirit of truth, which proceedeth from the Father, he will testify of me:”
John 16:7, “Nevertheless I tell you the truth; It is expedient for you that I go away: for if I go not away, the Comforter will not come unto you; but if I depart, I will send him unto you.”

Testimony about Christ Isaiah 7:14, “...Behold a virgin shall conceive in the womb and bear a Son and they shall call His Name Emmanuel.” How is that which is born of the holy virgin called Emmanuel? Emmanuel (as already stated) signifying that the word of God, which is truth in God, was made by reason of the flesh in nature such as we are. But, he is Emmanuel, for He emptied himself, having undergone a generation like unto ours, and so was made with us. Hence, He is God in flesh, and she the Mother of God, who bare Him carnally or after the flesh.
