Is Jesus Christ actually from David then? The fleshly nature of Jesus is the fulfillment of the scriptures in the Old Testament coming to life in the New Testament. Isaiah himself prophesied this in Isaiah 9:6-7, 6.) “For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name [not names] shall be called Wonderful, Counselor, The Mighty God, The Everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.” Notice that every title that he would be called describes the name. In the New Testament Jesus is the name translated from the Old Testament Hebrew, Yahweh, or I Am, for God.
Verse 7, “Of the increase of his government and peace there shall be no end, upon the throne of David, and upon his kingdom, to order it, and to establish it with judgment and with justice from henceforth even for ever. The zeal of the Lord of hosts will perform this.”
Jesus Christ is the God of the Old Testament, incarnated in flesh (New Testament), prophesied by Isaiah chapter 11:1-2 and verse 10-16. Isaiah 11:1-2 reads, 1.) “And there shall come forth a rod out of the stern of Jesse, and a Branch shall grow out of his roots: 2.) And the spirit of the Lord shall rest upon him, the spirit of wisdom and understanding, the spirit of counsel and might, the spirit of knowledge and of the fear of the Lord;” Verse 10, “And in that day there shall be a root of Jesse, which shall stand for an ensign of the people; to it shall the Gentiles seek: and his rest shall be glorious.”
Matthew 11:28-30, 28.) “Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. 29.) Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. 30.) For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.” That rest is the Spirit (Holy Ghost) of God.
David, Daniel, Joel, and Isaiah all spoke of the soon coming messiah in the New Testament. This is the promise given to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob by God that out of the seed of Abram (Abraham) would come the covenant that all nations would be blessed because of his seed. Therefore, Jesus is the seed of David. The Saviour. Isaiah 43:3, (God makes this statement to the children of Israel), “For I am the Lord thy God, the Holy One of Israel, thy Saviour: I gave Egypt for thy ransom, Ethiopia and Seba for thee.” Isaiah 45:15, “Verily thou art a God that budest thyself, O God of Israel, the Saviour.” One God, (the Saviour). Ha el yeshua thenu, meaning, God is our salvation.
Yes, Jesus was from the royal lineage of David, by nature. Luke 2:4 “And Joseph also went up from Galilee, out of the city of Nazareth, into Judea, unto the city of David, which is called Bethlehem; (because he was of the house and lineage of David:)” Luke 1:68-69, 68.) “Blessed be the Lord God of Israel; for he hath visited and redeemed his people, 69.) And hath raised up an horn of salvation for us in the house of his servant David.”
The only way that Jesus Christ could be the only begotten of the Father (God), as in John 3:16, “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life”, is knowing that God is that Holy Ghost (Holy Spirit) that overshadowed Mary.
