126 ♦ Bible Writers' Theology Chapter Seven
According to this scripture, anyone that does not believe in the incarnation of the Father in the Son is both a liar and antichrist. This Bible passage con tinues by saying, "Whosoever denieth the Son, the same has not the Father But he that acknowledgeth the Son has the Father also" (I John 2:23). Why is
this so? Because the Father is incarnated in the Son: only one person! One subsistence (John 6:57).
"That which we have seen and heard declare we unto you, that ye also may have fellowship with us: and truly our fellowship is with the Father, and with his Son Jesus Christ" (IJohn 1:3). Why do we need to have fellow ship with the Father and with His Son Jesus Christ? The Bible teaches us
that the Father is Spirit. To receive from His Spirit, we need to have fel lowship with Him through Christ. Furthermore, to be saved, we need to have fellowship with the Son of God by putting off the old (natural) man and putting on the nature of "the New Man," Christ Jesus, by the wash
ing of regeneration (Galatians 3:26-28; Titus 3:5). The act of both water and Spirit baptisms inJesus' Name is the experience of fellowshipping with the FatherandtheSon. WecannothavefellowshipwiththeFatheroutsidethe flesh and blood of His Son. In the same way, we cannot have fellowship
withtheSonoutsidetheeternalSpiritoftheFather. Theflesh, blood, and the Spirit are inseparable: one Person. (See I John 5:6-8; John 12:44-45; 14:6- 10.)
The scripture in I John 5:6-8, gives us a clear picture of Cod; "This is He that came by water and blood, even Jesus Christ; not by water only, but by water and blood. And it is the Spirit that beareth witness, because the Spirit is truth. For there are three that bear record in heaven. The Father, The Word, and the HolyGhost: and these threeare one. And there are three that bear witness in earth, the Spirit, and the water, and the blood: and .these threeagreeinone." (SeealsoPsalm33:5-6.) Clearly, theSpirit, theWord, and the blood are always inseparable. Hebrews 9:14 attests that the blood of Christwasoffered, throughtheeternalSpirit,(thefather) topurgeoursins.
We cannot make a clear distinction of the Father or the Spirit outside of Christ. ThroughfaithintheWordofGod,weacknowledgethattheFather, theWord, andthebreathofGodareinthepersonofJesusChrist. Godis One, and is manifested only in the flesh and blood of His only begotten Son, the express image of His Person. Whoever denies the inseparable oneness of His Godhead also denies the express image of God's person, the Father manifested in the flesh; and such a man is indeed antichrist (See I John 2:22; II Corinthians 4:4). Christ is indeed "the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of every creature: For by Him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones.
