Unseen Hands
Elfenesh, she came to tell Salome about a vision she had. "I saw yoked oxen fly out of my house and fly toward the east, I think I am going to be delivered. If your Jesus will save me from my cruel master," the trembling woman wept, "I will serve Him until I die, and I will destroy all
the artifacts of my trade."
Tekle went with Salome and Sophia to Elfenesh's
house, and on her confession that she wanted deliverance, they prayed and rebuked the devil in the name of Jesus. Forty screaming demon leaders came out of her, claim ing that a thousand evil spirits worked under each of them. By the unfathomable mercy of God, as all of these agents of Satan moved out the precious Holy Ghost moved in, bringing peace and joy beyond words.
Immediately she burned the elaborate gowns and the implements that she had used while offering sacrifices to Satan. She made a pilgrimage to every home and palace of her clients, lowly and great, and with or without their permission, she burned or threw into the toilet all the fetishes and charms that she had previously given them. The common report was that she had lost her mind. She rejoiced that she had found it at last!
Elfenesh witnessed to everyone with brimming joy and assurance, and she especially loved to attend services in the chapel that Sophia built. Brother Wolde-Giorgis Sisay came during that time to serve as pastor of the sizeable, growing flock.
Salome, her three daughters, and her sister Wolete- hiwot rejoiced in the liberty of the Holy Ghost. They spent many hours studying the Word and praying together. One day they felt impressed of the Lord that something was not right, that something was missing in their experience.
