Throughout the year we have farewelled Sue Marshall (leave for 2018), Alice Hildebrand (Maternity Leave) and Bryce Morgan (Leave for his Overseas Experience). This has meant that we have been lucky enough to welcome Hamish Skelt, Rosie
De Goldie and Ruth Fairbairn to the Junior School team.
As the Head of Junior School, I am lucky enough to be able to visit classes and it
is amazing to watch how much the boys grow and mature as they begin in Year 7 as apprehensive young men and leave in Year 8 excited about the prospect of Year 9 and the senior school, and ready to tackle the challenges and adventures they will face.

Alex the soldier
A soldier named Alex was gh ng the Germans in Gallipoli. He was crawling up the side
of a mountain and no ced something shiny. It was a crystal, so he grabbed it and made a necklace out of some string in his pocket. He put on the necklace and he felt di erent, he felt powerful, he felt invincible, so he ran into the Germans trench but as clumsy as Alex is he tripped over and face planted into the trench. The Germans laughed and laughed at him so he grabbed a grenade and dropped it at his feet, the Germans faces dropped and Alex was hoping he would survive. Boom!!! The bomb went o and Alex was standing in a deep hole alive all the Germans around him were in pieces so he went around dropping bombs and killing all the Germans un l there were none le . A er the war was over Alex came back a hero and passed down the crystal through the genera ons.
