This year we introduced four new house compe ons to try get a di erent range of people involved in the house compe on with a di erent variety of sports and a brand-new compe on. This included dodgeball, basketball, football and a house lm compe on, with the theme for the short lms having to incorporate the message of safe driving. The dodgeball, basketball and football were all held in the gym at lunch mes and were run by the prefects and Mr Meijer. These sports were open to students from years 9 to 13. Later
in the term the Year 7 and 8s had their own dodgeball tournament held in the gym, which was also run by the prefects.
In a closely fought ba le, Deaker won the compe on, overall, by a mere 15 points from its closest rival, Pearce. Coldstream came in third, followed by Grant and U ley.

SBHS vs SGHS Prefect games
This year the SGHS prefects hosted the prefect games in their gym, where the SBHS prefects played 3 games against them over 3 weeks. SBHS won both Dodgeball and Basketball convincingly to win the overall series, however, the best game was the last game as SBHS and SGHS ba led it out in
a close nal match of Netball with SGHS taking an early lead in the rst quarter. It wasn’t un l the last two quarters where SBHS caught up and levelled the scores at 16-16 un l SGHS managed to get a few late goals to win 18-17. SBHS won Dodgeball and Basketball. SGHS won Netball.
