a spot the next morning. In challenging condi ons, the team knew they had to
do the basics right to secure a spot in the nal. Once again, they showed a strong hi ng performance with everyone showing their skills, to take the team to a 13-2
win, becoming the South Island Division 2 Champions.
The team would like to thank Coach, Jim A eck, and Manager, Jason Te Huia, for
all of their hard work prior and during the tournament and Miss Tull, for all of her hard work behind the scenes.

Southland Boys’ High School student,
Carl Rodmell, was a member of the Southland U18 Boys’ Table Tennis Team who competed recently in Timaru, winning the U18 South Island, tle bea ng Otago
4 matches to 3. Tyler Hewton was also a member of the U15 Boys’ Team winning the U15 team’s event and taking Southland to a win in two South Island Boys’ tles for the rst me.

SOUTHLAND SECONDARY SCHOOL TENNIS CHAMPIONSHIPS
On the 20th of February, Southland Boys’ High School sent two teams to compete
in the Southland Secondary School Tennis Championships, held in Winton. One team, consis ng of Hamish Gray, Thomas Clark, Ryan Taylor and Riley smith, proved to be very strong and went through undefeated. The boys quali ed for the South Island championships held in Christchurch, but they did not a end. The second team, did not qualify to go further.
