As usual, the highlights of the season were the two most enjoyable games played against Girls' High. Al though we won both, the girls were far from being disgraced, and all thanks go to them for these games. Thanks also to the umpire, Mr. W. Sommerville who did an excellent job.
Our grateful thanks also to Mr. Berridge for his coaching and valuable support during the season.
The club has been divided into two groups under Mr. Robertson and Mr. Jones. We have enjoyed our weekly runs. The constant change of scenery from the Waverley Church route, the grind around the park, and the gruelling road race which at times reaches marathon proportions, has been welcomed by the runners. We have also found that it is much quicker to run than to drive a Citroen-the harriers usually arrive some time before it.
On one auspicious occasion the harriers were left in the capable hands of a prefect. It is suspected that not everyone managed to complete the course that day.
For all those who enjoy fresh air, rain, wind, and sometimes shine, plus violent physical (?) exercise, we would recommend the harriers.
We thank the two masters for their co-operation in organising the club.
Some of the members have run in the Saturday Harrier Competitions, and Takitimu, representing the School. has been successful on several occasions.
