The introductory course focuses on scope, meaning, history and development of the world’s
fine and applied arts works; basic principles of visual arts, creative arts, music and dance.

Students will be introduced to study Thai and Japanese social development, norms and
values of respective local wisdom via diverse topics such as resources procurement and consumption
as well as harmony with surrounding environment.

The course will survey the origin and progress of mankind from the Prehistoric, the
Ancients, the Middle Ages, the Modern to the present; interaction in each period among social,
economic and political conditions, wisdom and creative arts; aesthetic aspect of work reflecting the
