Boot Camp

Did you know; Housing for Older Persons Act of 1995 (enacted December 28, 1995) amends Title VIII of the Civil Rights Act of 1968 (Fair Housing Act). The Act “amend[s] the Fair Housing Act to modify the exemption from certain familial status discrimination prohibitions granted to housing for older persons.”
We, as your Board, are entrusted with an abundance of information, laws we must adhere to, decorum we must follow, obligations we must delegate to operate Solera at Kern Canyon. It is quite the responsibility. Fortunately for us, we have many resources and one of those is our Management Company, Associa-PCM.
I am so excited to announce Associa-PCM will be holding a Board Boot Camp this month. Homeowners and Board Members are invited
to attend a 4 to 5-hour workshop and will be held on Friday, February 17th at 10:00 a.m. Light refreshments and light lunch will be provided, so please sign up in The Grove.
You will be able to learn how the Board
supports the delity of the association, representing the needs of the entire community, enforce governing documents, budgeting and scal responsibilities and many other topics. There will be plenty of time for questions and answers with Martin McKenna Senior Vice President, Communications & Branch Operations and Jeremy S. Wilson, MBA, CCAM®, CMCA®, AMS®, LSM®, PCAM®, Regional Vice President – Inland Empire for Assoca-PCM.
This is a great refresher course for the current Board of Directors. As well, it will be a tremendous opportunity for future Board can- didates or any interested homeowner to learn how to manage and operate a homeowner’s association. This is your
chance to learn the “how
and why” the Board makes
decisions on behalf of the
HOA. It will truly be a great
event and I sincerely hope
you can attend.
