modern and serve a major proportion of the province.
The use of dedicated bus lanes, major intersection
structures and signage makes it easy to get around the
Cape Town Metropolis. Two of the three longest and
most important national roads, the N1 and N2 start
in Cape Town. The N1 ends 1 929 km to the north at
the Zimbabwean border and the N2 terminates at the
Mozambican border 1 611 km to the northeast.
