Decreased List. For example, if a player’s price has fallen because he’s just been
knocked out of the World Cup but is set to play in next season’s Champions League or
Europa League, you might want to snap him up. Make sure you look at the charts to
see what’s happened over seven days, and one month, and check the price a player
peaked at, to give you an idea of past performance and potential. Try to work out why
the price had been rising: Transfer rumour? Big Fixture? Value ahead of an
important international game? If you can work out why the price has dropped –
perhaps it’s an injury – you can determine if it’s likely to bounce back quickly, or
               more likely to fall further.

               3. RUMOURS

We can sum up the third market-driver like this: “Buy the rumour. Sell the story.” A
decent rumour always makes the market at least flinch upwards.
What qualifies? Transfer rumours. Team sheet rumours. Internal team issue rumours
that are making headlines (think Paul Pogba, Luke Shaw and Toby Alderweireld).
These will all make the market move in your favour.
But when the rumours end prices begin to fall, which means you need good timing.
You want to get in at or near the beginning of a rumour-fuelled rise to take full
advantage – and get the hell out before the story dies down.

One thing to bear in mind, is that even fake news from less-than-mainstream-media
impacts prices. When you’re looking for the latest rumours start by checking out
players on today’s Media Buzz list. Ousmane Dembele might be propping up the
table with only 20 points right now . . . but what if that’s because a story linking him
with Arsenal, Manchester United and Real Madrid has just been published?

               4. BIG GAMES, BIG PLAYERS & EASY MATCHES

Football Index traders are football fans and we like big games almost as much as we
like making money. Top clashes always move the market because watching elite
players while noticing your portfolio is increasing in value is twice the fun.

Equally if a strong team is playing a struggling team then the strong team players will
likely increase in value – their players are expected to pick up those precious MB and
               PB points.

               Pay particular attention to:

                    • Big name players in big name teams

                    • World Cup and European Championship tournaments
                    • Champions League & Europa League

                    • Cup Finals
                    • Top 6 head-to-head

                    • Relegation six-pointers
Top of the league v Bottom of the league
