Look at the numbers on a clock
Write those numbers down, evenly spaced around the paper plate
for each hour.
Punch your pencil through the middle of the plate
Point the 12 due north and the sun should tell you what time it is or
check the time and place the plate facing the directions that is
showing that time.
● Consider container gardening which can be more flexible, being
more mobile and can be changed around with the changing seasons.
Also they can be done indoors in a sunny spot. Nearly anything that
holds soil and has good drainage can be used in container
gardening. Let your child pick out some interesting pots and
encourage him or her to decorate them. They can be anything from
recycled yogurt container, old buckets to old school shoes, boot or
sneakers!
● Consider also creating a special spot for storing their garden
tools. It’s wonderful for them to have their own child-sized shovels,
rakes, hoes, some garden gloves or maybe their tools may be large
spoons for digging and old measuring cups, bowls and pails for
harvesting. A watering can of their own is great too.
