An Introductory Poem

Jesus providing
An extension of time That’s what this poet wants To reflect in these rhymes
This is where Cole Younger dies So Cole said he thought Before the last gunfight About to be fought
Bullets seemed to come From every side
And Cole, Jim and Bob You thought would have died
But though the Younger Brothers took many hits The only one to die Was Charlie Pitts
Reader we all know Their sins were great And some think if they died They would deserve that fate
That’s the beauty of What these poems relate God once again proves His mercies are great

Let us now fall into the hand of the Lord,
for His mercies are great.
