Mating is the highest in the period of November to April. Pregnancy lasts between 93 and 112 days
which results in a litter of 2-3 cubs. Cubs can’t see when born and are helpless. The eyes open
between 6 and 14 days. At 8 weeks, the cubs can leave the den for short periods with the mother.
The cubs are capable hunters at 11 months and become independent at 18 months. Cubs leave their
mother only when they are 24 to 30 months old. Females reach sexuality between 3 and 4 years
where males reach their sexuality between 4 and 5 years. Male tigers can kill the cubs for the tigress
to conceive again after five months. The mortality rate for tiger cubs are 50% where accidents,
freezing, starvation and humans play a significant role.

They can be found from the South and Southeast Asia, China and the Far East of Russia. They enjoy
tropical-, evergreen- and temperate forests, mangrove swamps, grasslands and savannas.
               They are an endangered species.
