THIRD PROGRESS UPDATE ~ NOVEMBER, 2014 ~ ERIC HOLLENBECK

Here is a picture of the body with 78 clamps This picture of the body shows the fitments
gluing up the window frame skins. at the top of each column and the fretwork
                                                                    between each column.
We have some modifications to make but we have been solving problems all the way
along and will continue to do so throughout the project. It’s the nature of building something
from nothing more than a picture; you reinvent the wheel every step of the way.
Meanwhile, we are still working on PARTS. Below is a picture of Mercedes (Coast
Guard) working on the finished “Pineapple Pattern” for the foundry folks to cast. This is
the top of the 24” capital buildup and will hold the ostrich
                                                feathers.
As Mercedes finished this pattern Anthony and Mitch
were drilling the locating holes in the finials and leaf hats so
the entire buildup could be leaded together.
All of this is an experiment, but all the experiments
have worked so far and those that don’t just show us we
need to come up with a different way. NO BIG DEAL, YOU
GOT VETERANS ON IT, AND IT WILL GET DONE!
Also, during this stretch, Chuck Ellsworth and Lynnie
                                                Horrigan came and picked
                                                up 136 diamonds that
                                                Cody had cast, (now
                                                you can see why ‘parts
                                                is parts’!). These will go
on the fret work over the
windows. They took them to start the SILVER LEAFING,
which will be the first of the gold and silver leaf we will get
             to see.
Oh yeah, I almost forgot, while all this was happening
we had our second annual seven night “Haunted Mill Tour”
where the veterans were security each night until midnight,
and a writer, Greg Gianas, from Seattle, came down for a
week doing interviews for a story on the healing powers of
the Hearse Project and The Blue Ox. “Rock on Warriors!”

                                                                                                                  23
