Supporting Student Notes:
We provide you with two levels of data loss prevention:
• Cisco’s onboard DLP allows administrators to create basic rules based on content—who, where, and what. For
example, block the upload of all Excel files or specify—forbid the upload of “Financial Earnings 2013” to the web
zone category. Cisco’s Advanced Visibility and Control also prevents violations over port 80 and 443.
• In addition to on-board DLP analysis tools, Cisco also integrates via ICAP with DLP solutions from leading vendors to
ensure consistent enforcement of DLP policies and deep content analysis. Powerful engines inspect outbound
traffic, analyze it for content markers, such as confidential files, credit card numbers, customer data, etc. and
prevent this data from being uploaded to the web.
