 126 JAGGEDEDGE
The two friends started galloping toward a mall side entrance.
“Remember what I said,” warned Visara. “Stay in the office until I come to get you, so move it.”
Visara looked to her right as Sienna maneuvered between people going towards the office. She casually looked around to see if anyone in particular followed her movements and then dashed to her left toward the Big Child’s Toy Store entrance. She ran into the store and stopped halfway to study the layout. After pausing a few seconds, she ran to the far end of the store and started backtracking isle by isle in search of Jennifer. At the third isle, she barely heard the following interruption of the mall’s music system:
“We interrupt our music to request the presence of Mrs. Jen- nifer Key in the mall’s office. Thank you very much. We now resume our music.”
Visara started to dart from the store when she froze in a quan- dary. Was the killer holding Sienna trying to get her mother, or was Sienna trying to save Jennifer without thinking? Had she sent Sienna into harms way without realizing it?”
“No time to think about it now. Gotta move.”
There was no way to find the answer. Visara hoped Sienna was okay and decided to continue searching isle to isle trying to find Jennifer. Occasionally, she glanced toward the door so as not to miss her leaving the store.
A tall slender woman with flowing blond hair moved very seductively around the third floor toward the mall’s office. As she appeared in front of the office window, she smiled at the mall’s office manager who was looking out of the window at the time. The woman continued to smile as she opened the door and was greeted by the office manager.
“Hello, I’m Jennifer Key. I believe someone requested my presence here.”
“I just knew you were Mrs. Key when I saw you out of the window,” said the manager. “If you wait right here, there is some- one here to see you.”
