“Both of you have had a trying day, and I think you should get some sleep. I will be leaving as soon as I check around the house.”
As Sky went outside, Sienna removed her rucksack from her back and set up her computer in the dining room.
“Now is a good time to check this software out, she thought, “and see just what’s to it. I know when Dad finally gets it he’ll have a thousand questions. Now let me see if I can find some answers for him.”
Fifteen minutes later, Sky returned.
“Okay ladies, I’m back, and I’ll be on the case as soon as I get my gear together. Just act as if I am here.”
He went back to the garage for another fifteen minutes while Jennifer finally relaxed in the living room watching television.
“Mr. Sky, Is there anything I can help you with?” Sienna asked.
“Thank you, Ma’am but I’m just making sure I have all the supplies I need to keep me for the night.”
“A few minutes later, he walked into the dining room notic- ing Sienna on her computer and interrupted her.
“Will you tell your mother I would like to talk to you both before I leave, please?”
“Sure,” Sienna acknowledged while activating the screen saver on the computer.
She went into the living room retrieved her mother, and both returned to Sky.
“I’ll be back by early morning,” he said. “All the doors are locked. Please keep them that way. I’ll lock the one I leave from and if for any reason I need to get back in before morning, and I very seriously doubt it, I’ll call on this two-way radio. I’ll be num- ber one, and you’ll be number two. If I need to come in, I’ll knock one time and three more after that. I know it won’t be easy, with all you’ve been through, but try to get some sleep. You re- ally deserve it.”
“What about you?” Sienna wondered aloud.
