The three continued the rest of the journey in silence.
Sienna and Jennifer looked around frantically as the car slowed in a residential area. Dan noticed them from the corner of his eye and smiled to himself satisfied they were lost.
“I’ve had a big day, and tomorrow’s payday. So when we get in, you two can start cooking. Let me warn you, you sample ev- erything first in case you decide to be clever,” he explained.
As the garage door closed, he got out of the car carrying the garage door opener.
“Give me your arm,” he said to Sienna. He grabbed it and handcuffed her to the left door of the car.
“Now I won’t have to worry about coming back here to a surprise,” he said, before walking into the house.
“Mom, do you know who that is?” Sienna asked Jennifer. “A coward that goes around hitting women.
“No, Mom. It’s Eradicator. He’s one of the killers on that soft-
ware!”
“What! Are you sure?”
“Yes, Ma’am. His picture looked a little different when I saw
it earlier, but I’m sure of it. Also, have you noticed that he checks things out, just like Sky and Visara? Why does he do that? I’ll bet he’s in there right now checking the place for spiders or bugs or whatever they look for we’re not supposed to know about.”
As Sienna spoke, Jennifer’s eyes enlarged with some hidden innate realization.
“Mom, say something. It’s hard to see you in the dark.”
“I’m here, honey. Just thinking about what you said. Listen, honey please don’t do anything to make him hurt us. Somehow we’ll figure a way out of this.”
“Alright. Conference is over,” Dan said, swinging the kitchen door open.
He removed the women from the car and took them into the house with their hands cuffed behind them. Once inside, he hand- cuffed his captives back to back in two chairs.
