“I am going to remove these handcuffs after I eat a few sand- wiches. Don’t forget what I said.”
He fixed three sandwiches and ate as the women sat and watched. Starting on the third, he noticed the rucksack on Sienna’s back.
“What the hell you got?” Dan asked, “A big exam coming up tomorrow?”
“I have no idea what you are talking about,” Sienna voiced.
“There has to be a reason you have that damn rucksack on your back.”
“It’s like my pocketbook. I never take it off.”
“What’s in it?”
“It’s my computer and other school stuff,” Sienna said, an-
swering after receiving an affirmative nod from Jennifer. “What’s so special about it?”
“My father gave it to me for my birthday.”
“Isn’t it just another boring instrument for boring people.” “I’ll bet I can hack into anything you could ever create,”
said Sienna with a smug look on her face.
“Kid, you have no idea what real hacking is.”
“I’m a pro said Sienna.
Probably tried a little hacking on the net and think you’re a
pro.”
“Isis can hack anything.”
“Isis? What is that? Your hacker alias or something?” Dan
asked suddenly realizing where he had heard that name in his past. You’re the one?” he said in honest amazement. “All this time. So you’re Isis, and I thought it was your mother. I should have known she wasn’t smart enough to pull it off—not running a temp agency.”
“I don’t run a temp agency,” Jennifer intervened.
“Not you. I was referring to her real mother.”
“You don’t know my real mother,” Sienna said defiantly, “so
you’d better watch your mouth.”
“Hmm. I see we’re a little sensitive about our family mem-
bers aren’t we,” Dan recognized sarcastically. “Well, I’ve got a
