 206 JAGGEDEDGE
“How we doing, guys?” Brock asked Craig and Ralph, who were busy checking barrels.
“Still checking to make sure everything is kosher.”
“I’m leaving Frank here to cover you. Watch yourself.” Then he moved through the panel door. Re-entering the main
room, he asked what happened, and Johnny said something hap- pened with the computer over in the room although no one was near it. It kind of popped. Then Brock told Johnny to help him unplug everything in the room in case something was there to salvage. They quickly started unplugging all the equipment but heard loud chatter from the panel room.
“Holy smoke!” Craig said in the panel room.
“This must be the mother lode!” Ralph exclaimed.
“Just exactly what is going on in here?” Brock asked, burst-
ing into the panel room.
“Look at this. It’s the drug we’ve been looking for!” Craig
whispered. “There must be a billion dollars worth of it in here.” “What else did you find?” Brock quizzed.
“The drug is packed in water bottles and these small tubes,”
Ralph said, showing off a small sample. “There must be thou- sands of them in each barrel!”
“According to this label,” Ralph determined, “they’ve been moving this stuff all over the place as water and industrial cleaner. Now that we know what to look for, we should be able to put the brakes on them.”
“Right now, I want you to check this area for weapons and booby traps quick. We need it cleared before this stuff can be hauled out of here. This setup seems a little too easy. Anyway make it fast,” Brock ordered and returned to the main room.
“Brock, that pop came from this computer,” Quincy told him. The way this is set up, it was done by remote.”
“You’re right. Someone wants to remain anonymous. Listen up. I want everyone to take all prisoners and evacuate to the alley in the next 30 seconds. Let’s go! Everybody Out!
The rooms came alive with activity.
