In Corin’s building, Brad assumed command and continued the mission throughout. Martin covered Corin’s body with a rope from waist to neck and handcuffed his hands to the rear.
“You’re wasting your time,” said Corin. “You won’t leave this building standing up.”
“Try not to worry about us,” Visara injected, slapping his face. “We’re just here squashing bugs. Don’t you fret none or go peeing in your pants ‘cause we want your powdered little butt to face the music,” she said smiling.
Corin stared at her for a moment and then spat in her direc- tion. But she saw him preparing and moved to the left. Moving back in front of him, she slowly dissolved the smile from her face. Her right foot started in a circular sweeping motion to the left hitting him on his right cheek.
Ooooof! He hit the floor shoulder first.
“I would have put my hands on you, but it wouldn’t be fair since you can’t use yours. That’s the only break you get from me.”
She immediately turned from Corin and finished assisting Seige.
“There’s a chip of bone broken off, but it’s not too bad. How does it feel?”
“You know what we say, “Pain is just the body’s way of letting you know you’re alive,” Seige said in a cracking voice.
Visara helped him to his feet, and the group was ready to move.
Martin led them down each stairwell rapidly checking the floors until all arrived in the lobby.
Seige smiled as he saw Brad busy processing the remains of Corin’s men who were trapped between Seige’s force inside and outside the building. Corin lowered his head upon seeing the remains of his guards routed like so many cattle. Visara walked toward Corin and stopped in front of him.
“I know how you feel. I am just as shocked as you are at being alive. And if you spit on me, your men will see a woman kick your ass up around your brain housing group.”
