III Discovery in the After Action Review
The black van had left the edge of the city and was heading toward the suburbs. It left the main road, and went into the woods at a faster pace, and quickly headed toward a cabin’s garage doors slowly rising. The van pulled in as the doors dropped and the occupants froze. Instantly, the slamming of the garage door on its base brought the force alive. And in a coordinated effort, they evacuated the van and all equipment in seconds. Seige was the third out carrying Steve in tow. He could feel his blood spilling warmly onto his chest soaking through his uni- form. He hoped Doc was already here.
“Over here,” said Doc, as Seige came through the door. “Stick!” Seige cried. “Boy, am I glad to see you!”
Visara hated that name. It had stuck from her martial arts
training with the FBI. While in training, many comers tried but she was never beaten. The name Stick would not go away.
“Bring him over here,” she said. “And you know I hate that name,” she warned, half-smiling.”
Seige knew, but with their long history together, it was a privi- lege. The last person besides Seige who called her that to her face was still in the hospital. She was the only woman on the team.
“How’d you get here so fast?” asked Seige.
“I have a feel for these things. Actually I kind of had a feel- ing you would need me tonight and was already here when you paged me. What happened to him?” she asked.
