Visara bent down to check on the wounded man as Seige grabbed her arm.
“Look him over good, Stick,” Seige said with concern. “He’s new blood, a good actor, but just not fast enough to escape. And we didn’t pull him out in time. The rest of you in the living room. “By the way, whatever you find, I want to know half a second later. I don’t care if you have to interrupt.”
“Got it,” she said.
Walking into the room Doug could see Seige was visibly con- cerned.
“Is security already posted Doug? Seige inquired.
“It is.”
The door closed, and a flurry of conversation started at that
instant.
“It was a setup,” blurted one member of the team.
“No lie, man.” They knew we were coming,” added another.
“I can’t get over how they found out.”
“Let’s start the review,” Seige demanded, ending the tirade.
“Before we begin, I want you to know that our first mission after Ranger school is a smashing success. In spite of the fact that we were all hand picked from brother services, we gel pretty well.
