The BAYADA Way of Operating an Office: Home Care May 2019
 Working Together in Community
1. Handling calls across the company (For more details see Chapter 7, Handling Initial Request for Service section, #5.)
2. Sharing of clients and field employees. Clients or nurses may be shared among two or more offices. Sharing provides an opportunity for neighboring offices to work together
 Guiding principles while sharing clients:
• Clients come first.
• Employees are our greatest asset. • Honesty
• Fairness
• Teamwork
• Reliability
There are two methods of sharing cases. Service offices may choose to adopt either process after a discussion with each other and their division director(s).
For more details on sharing clients and field employees, see Chapter 7, Fill a Case section, Staffing the Case.
Sharing a Client
In this method, the service office providing the field employee to fill the case (assisting office) bills for that particular shift(s). Refer to the Case Sharing Within BAYADA Policy (37-392). The office that fills the majority of the shifts (has the greater billing) will also own and manage the case. Ideal Usage: This method tends to work best in multi-office areas where part-time, per diem field employees are widely used.
Sharing a Field Employee
In this method, the assisting office will provide nurses without billing for hours associated with that shift(s). Ideal Usage: This method tends to work best in multi-office regions where full-time benefited nurses are widely used. It can be used for other levels and part-time field employees, but the gross margin will be affected.
