            ERIN REID is an assistant professor at Boston University’s Questrom
            School of Business.

            CAROL A. WALKER is the president of Prepared to Lead, a manage-
            ment consulting firm in Boston. Before founding the company, she
            worked for 15 years as an executive in the insurance and technology
            industries.

            DONALD L. WASS is head of the Dallas–Fort Worth region of The Exec-
            utive Committee (TEC), an international organization for presidents
            and CEOs.

            MICHAEL D. WATKINS is the chairman of Genesis Advisers, a professor
            at IMD, and the author of The First 90 Days, Updated and Expanded
            (Harvard Business Review Press, 2013).
