Redevelopment Objectives
Howard University will serve as the project sponsor and will select a Master Developer to plan, finance, design, construct, operate, and
maintain the adaptive reuse of the East Campus into a master planned community. The Master Developer will draft a comprehensive
development plan incorporating and balancing with Howard University’s goals and relevant stakeholder concerns.
Surrounding Land Project
Program parcel to work cohesively with Mays Hall and the Select qualified partners to jointly plan, invest in and

Mays Hall & Sherwood Farmhouse Revitalization
Develop vision based on HU needs, financial impact and viability Preserve and adaptively reuse key site features
Relocate Divinity School back to Mays Hall (after renovation) Incorporate open space into the development vision
Proactively lead any Historic Preservation processes Be creative within the neighborhood context
Leverage EHT Traceries and R. McGhee & Associates Ensure financial and implementation feasibility
Develop Comprehensive Historic Preservation Plan to guide Be responsive to community concerns
