favour. But Hampshire just outplayed them and many congratulations to Martin and his
team. I’m very proud of my players, everyone performed brilliantly.”

Final placings: 1 Hampshire, 2 Somerset, 3 Staffordshire, 4 Northumberland.

Below: Billy McKenzie is congratulated by his dad, and caddy, Gavin, who is also a
               Rowlands Castle GC member.

Former Rowlands Castle member Darren Wright was part of the backroom team behind the
Hampshire team. Darren finally gave up on his ambition to earn a place on The European
Tour at the end of the 2016 season, having made 25 appearances on the European
Challenge Tour between 2012 and 2016. Darren remarked that Tom Robson had shifted the
momentum massively on the first day of the competition when he sunk a brilliant putt on
                      th
the 18 green against Somerset. Darren said, “Who knows what would have happened if
Robbo’s putt had not gone in”.

Well done Tom and Billy – we are all immensely proud of you!
