Trolley Store Refurbishment
Those of you - just under 100 - who regularly use the Trolley Store may have
noticed one or two changes recently. As part of a project to improve the
effectiveness of the Store a galvanised steel shelving unit has been installed
just inside the left-hand door.
It comes from a company called GaragePride and is one of the few products
on the market that gives a depth of 80 cms allowing 10 trolleys to be stored
horizontally in a set of shelves. Initially it is there on a trial basis and feedback
on its usage is being sought from the current users. If seen as successful, and
the initial feedback is positive, it is planned to install more shelving units with a
view to having a minimum of
trolleys on the floor. It is hoped
that those taller and stronger
members would use the higher
shelves leaving the lower
shelves, including the ground, for
members who are unable to lift
their trolleys. Additionally, the
spacing of the shelves is
adjustable and has been set
initially at 40 cms for the lower
two and 35 cms above - if
experience indicates a different
spacing it can be easily changed.
In the longer term there may be
scope to increase the capacity of
the Trolley Store and if you
would like to have your name
added to the waiting list please
contact Keith Fisher.
