ARCHITECTURE DESIGN PRINCIPLE - UNITY

Unity is a measure of how well each element of
our design works together. It describes the

overall design, and whether it's components work
together in harmony to communicate a single

idea. Unity is the most important Principle
of Design because it brings our design together as
one cohesive unit. Designers use unity to make

elements in a composition appear to belong
together. When each elements has a clear visual

relationship to one or more other elements, the Figure 53 : Sample of unity approach
          composition is unified.

When unity is achieved: a composition does not
become cluttered or confusing. a concept can be

communicated more clearly. Unity is a measure of
how well the elements on the overall belong
together. Through unity a viewer should first see

the whole and then the sum of the parts making
that whole. Unity holds our design together both

          visually and conceptually.
