ARCHITECTURE DESIGN PRINCIPLE - RHYTHM

Rhythm in design principle means recurrence of
elements such as lines, shapes, forms or colors

resulting on organized movement in space and
time. In the rhythm design principle repeating

elements can cause a sense of rhythm to form. The
form created similar to the way the space between
notes in a musical composition create a rhythm.

There are five basic types of visual rhythm that
designers can create: random, regular, alternating,

flowing, and progressive. Figure 49 : Sample of rhythm approach

An unifying movement characterized by a

patterned repetition or alteration of formal
elements or motifs in the same or a modified form.

The Rhythm is a regular and repeated pattern. We
can make a conclusion rhythm in architecture
means recurrence of elements such as lines,

shapes, forms or colors resulting on organized
          movement in space and time.
