The River Usk winds from Brecon to Crickhowell past
Llangynidr and Talybont on Usk. Llangors village sits
beside Llangors Lake – the biggest natural lake in South
Wales, Bwlch has the views at the top of the valley.
Talybont-on-Usk
A great base for cycling the Taff Trail or canoeing on the
canal. The active and friendly local community have installed
a rainwater bike wash, toilets and showers as well as an
electric vehicle charge point at the busy village hall.
Llangynidr
Llangynidr is graced with five locks on the canal, you can
watch the canal boats negotiate them as you ramble the
tow path. If you head downhill, you can find the River Usk
to admire the ancient (17th Century) narrow stone bridge
and visit the local pubs, village shop and café.
