BRONLLYS: THE NEXT TEN YEARS (2020-2030)
We took the advice of the PTHB to become a legal entity, registering as a Community Land Trust, a not for profit mutual benefit organisation. Subsequently in 2019 we signed a Memorandum of Understanding with PTHB and PCC to enhance our relationship and ability to work in co-production with these organisations. As this report goes to print, we await a formal agreement (Terms of Reference) to develop small projects on the Bronllys Community Hospital site.
Our Board clearly understands that the proposals within this document are what our community needs and wishes to see developed at Bronllys. We make no apologies for the major changes being proposed in this report.
Our propositions come at a time when global, national and regional re-evaluation are evident. In that spirit, we invite PTHB and PCC to give their full and timely support to our ideas and to help the organisation take on the tasks outlined in this Report.
The proposals reflect a compassionate, equitable and sustainable resource for our Communities and we believe the development of the Bronllys Well Being Park fits perfectly with the desire for better Health and Well Being services in this next decade.
Thank you to everyone for your continued support, it is much appreciated,”
Lydia Powell (President) Jacqui Wilding (Chair)
“As the Member of the Senedd for Brecon and Radnorshire, it has been fantastic to see and support the progress of Bronllys Well Being Park. The concept is quite simply inspirational; collaborative between local people and public bodies, and keeps the much-loved Bronllys Hospital at the heart of our local communities.
I fully endorse this project and believe it has great potential to significantly improve support and services for our rural area, especially for the most vulnerable.”
Kirsty Williams AM, Member of the Senedd for Brecon & Radnorshire
“I am delighted to endorse the impressive commitment shown by the Bronllys Well Being Park CLT Ltd team, together with the strong support of its 510 members. They have engaged the surrounding community with the aim to assist Powys Teaching Health Board in developing the work initially started by The Princes Foundation in 2011. This has involved feasibility studies in respect of Housing, Transport, Leisure and Sustainability funded by an Arwain Grant. The aim being to ensure the future of the Bronllys grounds as a community asset keeping the hospital at the heart of the Well Being Park. This will be a superb community asset and benefit local communities for years to come.”
