5. Value for Money
All Skills and Talent pilot projects will need to evidence value for money. This will be
evaluated in conjunction with the overall project aims and objectives. These figures will
be derived through cost per outcome. Therefore, cost per learner qualified divided by
number of learners qualified.

6d. Describe how the project will be evaluated. Evaluation should consider both the
impact of the project and lessons from the process of how the project was delivered.
The approach will vary depending on the scale and nature of each project. However,
all evaluations are expected to consider the following themes:
• progress against targets
• delivery and management
• outcomes and impact
• value for money
• lessons learnt.
Describe how the evaluation will be used to inform future activity and how it will be
shared with others.
Please note that applicants will be required to retain relevant documentary evidence to
demonstrate the financial probity of the project expenditure, results and outcomes to
demonstrate the project impact and ensure the most appropriate use of the project funding.
As part of the Terms and Conditions of Funding applicants will be required to confirm
that they are fully aware of the evidence requirements and data reporting mechanisms
in relation to the project.
